So while I’m not talking a full-on coup d’etat up there in the title, I do want to explore how many of us use our art to critique society or otherwise question authority and the “status quo”.
For instance, I’ve written fiction involving future humans who have adapted to live on such a messed up Earth that they have to rely entirely on sunlight to ensure their survival amidst debilitating climate change. Moreover, a short story has technology employees literally transforming into robots a little every day, each time they swipe their badge to enter the office.
What about you all? Who has written or drawn or otherwise created art that evokes the grittier and sometimes terrifying underbelly of reality?
